Animated Video & New Album Announcement
Silky Hen brought her unique vision to the table with her animated video for “Riverbank”. The track is the first to be released from Danny Bell and His Disappointments second full-length release, Songs for the Town. Silky Hen also created illustrations to accompany each song off the album. Her vibrant and playful work brings the tracks into full colour, giving the listeners another way to connect with the music in disconnected times.
Songs for the Town marks Danny Bell and His Disappointments’ second full-length release on Good Egg Records. The album touches on topics like depression, small-time music industry satire, BC’s bias against Prince George, Danny’s own experience immigrating to Canada, social division, and the thoughts and aspirations of two dogs. From the soft touch of Safe on the Hart to the satanic ending of Riverbank the album is a dynamic ride. Doing Sound brings the party to the listener ending with a drunken lullaby-esque anthem. Though the content gets dark at times, Danny never misses a chance to steer darkness to humour. The music sits in a few genres, flirting with punk, folk, and country.
